Phase One of the Food Pantry Garden will focus on working with ECS students, United Church, and local buisnesses to develop a 6 bed garden, collect garden tools, seeds and make 3 new beds.
Volunteers will help clean up the town Little League Park to prepare for the start of the season.
Students from PCS and area residents will spend the morning picking up trash that has accumulated over the winter around the school grounds.
Organize and conduct teacher/leader training and farm tour for the food, land and people curriculum.
A learn, explore, tase event for WIC/SNAP/Food Pantry clientel where local farmers market provides seasonal greens and a nutrition educator shows how to prepare them, along with a sampling.
Youth from the Middle School Writers Group and master gardener volunteers will build and plant bean/pea teepees at the food pantry garden to grow fresh vegetables for clients of the food pantry.
